Portrush 3 Northend United 2                                  Saturday 30th November 2013

The U9s travelled to Coleraine in Saturday for their last match before the winter break. The young Blues turned in a top performance but ended up on the wrong side of a five goal thriller.
Charlie McGarry and Ben O'Neill were on target for John Devlin's boys who now look forward to a few weeks break before training starts again in January.

Institute 4 Northend United 1                                           Saturday 23rd November 2013

Northend opened the game well with most of their play going down the left hand side with Lee Turner and Ben O'Neill linking up to push the Institute defence back, but Institute were very dangerous on the break and it took Dara Killough and Lee Turner to be focussed on their play to keep the score level. From a throw-in Jay McKeown scored a goal from nothing when it seemed he was going nowhere when he unleashed a shot from twenty yards out which flew over the Institute keeper into the top corner. Institute levelled the score just before half time. Half time score 1-1

Northend never turned up in the second half with Institute the better team. The Northend players gave the ball away to easily and did not show the fight to win it back and it showed as Institute went on to score three more times. Final score 4-1

Portrush 6 Northend United 2                                          Saturday 9th November 2013

The Northend U9 players played really well against a very strong and skilful Portrush team but even through they scored six goals and had more of the ball, Northend should of scored a lot more goals with their quick counter attacking. The game started really quickly with the Portrush players moving the ball around well and they raced into a three goal lead, then the Northend players started to pass the ball around as well with Ben O'Neill outstanding at the back but they couldn't close the gap and it stayed 3-0 at halftime. Half time score 3-0

Northend responded well with a goal coming straight from the centre when Ben O'Neill drilled his shot into the Portrush goal. They then pulled another one back when Jay McKeown scored to make it 3-2. Just as it looked like the comeback was on, Portrush scored twice more. However Northend were still creating chances but they failed to hit the back off the net and Portrush scored late in the game to make the final score 6-2. The Northend put in a great team performance with Stevie Bristow the outstanding Northend player. Final score 6-2

Northend United 2 Carniny Amateurs 1                      Saturday 2nd November 2013

These two Ballymena teams put on a great display of derby football on a wet and windy morning. Due to sickness Northend were missing a few regular players, however the players who were on the field were outstanding. Ben O'Neill and Lee Turner were in dominant form in defence, with Jay McKeown, Issac Wylie and Stevie Bristow in midfield helping them with their constant runs back and forth.
Northend fell behind to Carniny but levelled the score before half time through Jay McKeown. Half time score 1-1

Into the second half and Northend United got the winner when Jay McKeown took a corner and played into the packed penalty box where it came of the Carniny keeper and into the net to give the Northend team a hard earned win. Full time score 2-1
